Tanzania cancels Real Madrid visit

CAPTION: Robinho's Real Madrid dodges Tanzania

I had just gotten bored of speculating how Dar es Salaam would look like when the champions of Spanish football Real Madrid visit.
But speaking remarkably candidly to Rafshizzle, one Tanzanian government official, only identified as Majumo, has cleared things up for me once and for all.
“The Real Madrid visit is no longer a real deal,” said Majumo.
He said Real Madrid wanted $6 million for their visit and the Tanzanian government couldn’t find any relevant reason for releasing such big bucks.
“We truly wanted to have them come down here to inspire our national team that is bidding for Africa Cup of Nations 2008 but their demands are too high,” he added. “$6 million is just allowance to the team but they also want good accommodation, top-class transport and things like that…”
This time I’m siding with Tanzanian government because these guys tend to be big-hearted but they love money even for the smallest things.
$6 million is a heck of money for a small country like Tanzania.
Ouch.
