NUMBER ONE: Chameleone for Big Brother this Sunday

Huh? There is a lot of Chameleone in the news or rather a lot of news ‘in’ Chameleone?
Well, all I can say is that the latest at my desk from Multichoice Uganda is that Chameleone’s performance at the Big Brother Africa II Eviction Party in South Africa is this Sunday.
The initial communication had indicated October 28 but Rafshizzle received a press statement from Multichoice two hours ago and it indicated September 30 instead.
And the African music “heavyweight” will fly from the US straight to South Africa where he is to perform while backed up by his young brother Weazal.
Chameleone will perform a few minutes before we get to know whether it’s the South African overweight eating-machine Lerato or the Zimbabwean python Bertha leaving the House.
Chameleone, who has been described by South Africans as Africa’s crowd-pleasure, has promised to do his best to impress the Big Brother audience and he has told Rafshizzle on phone that he would perform Sivyo Ndivyo or Mawoko Na Mawoko, the 2006 hit he sang in the Shona language of Zimbabwean.
What a coincidence in case Bertha leaves!

Can you believe Paris Hilton is swapping partying for poverty, A-list for aid work and beach life for street life?
Hilton who is America’s most famous heiress is putting her money where her mouth is by visiting Rwanda and Uganda in November, according to E Online.
26-yearold Hilton is an American celebutante, businesswoman, singer, model, actress, and television personality. She is an heiress to a share of both the Hilton Hotel fortune and the real estate fortune of her father Richard Hilton.
But the biggest news is that the blonde socialite is set to invest in her caring sharing nature by taking a trip to Rwanda.
Hilton plans to visit the former African warzone in November after completion of her horror-musical movie, Repo! The Genetic Opera.
She told E Online: “There’s so much need in that area, and I feel like if I go, it will bring more attention to what people can do to help.”
Meanwhile, a source said that Hilton would secretly sneak into Uganda before leaving for Kigali.
I’m not quite sure what the Rwandan locals will make of the beauty, better known for sex tapes, partying and one notorious prison stretch.
Perhaps life behind bars really has changed the Hilton, who vowed to do more charity work when she came out of the clink.
“I want to visit more countries where poverty and children’s issues are a big concern. I know there’s a lot of good I can do just by getting involved and bringing attention to these issues,” she said after her release recently and now us Ugandans and Rwandans should be proud that we are one of the people she has thought about first.
According to Forbes Magazine, Hilton earned approximately $2 million in 2003–2004, $6.5 million in 2004–2005, and $7 million in 2005–2006 --- you see, another American millionaire coming but guys before you think of detoothing her hear this:

And Rafshizzle is very sure that this visit to Uganda and Rwanda is no dumb act.

Bums Continue Daring To Bare!

Good grief.
Or should that be good brief?
I have just consulted my cultural or rather Ugandan style bible and I can’t locate an entry on bottom flashing being up to standard whatsoever.
The closest I can find is a blurb on big knickers being a la mode for queen dancers just in case as they do their thing - but I’m not even sure this lass is wearing pants. And if she is, big they are not.
But all in all, why not use longer pants or just give up on skimpy stuff when you know that day you’re doing some vigorous strokes.

Haruna Over Tempted in Ramadan!

Ding ding! Round one of a celebrity’s Battle of the Souls is underway.
In the left corner is Haruna Mubiru of Kitooke Kifa Nsalira, in the right, Temptation or call him Satan.
In the two weeks of the holy month of Ramadan Haruna has been attacked by numerous Temptations that have almost spoilt his Shawm (fasting).
The first Temptation faced him in Masindi where he performed at the B2K Nite launch at Club Liquid a week ago. A girl from the audience told Haruna: “I love you, please can I spend the rest of tonight with you, please…” and he said, “I’m sorry I can’t do that” but that was not the end of the Temptations.
Even last week as he performed with Eagles Production on the Ssese Islands, Haruna was faced by even tougher Temptations.
Doing his thing, a girl joined him on stage, she undid her zip a little bit and started dancing seductively. Another even had a beer in her hand and remember Haruna had just broken his fast.
Everyone knows what the Qur’an says about booze and music but, anyways, it’s the same Qur’an that advises us not to judge others.
Haruna’s situation has got my brain whirling, and I have decided to investigate the matter in my own unique way considering singing is the guy’s job and he cannot avoid the fans.

CAPTION: Over 26 awards and he is still counting

Wow! He never dies!
The latest news to reach Rafshizzle’s desk is about the nomination of Ugandan music heavyweight Jose Chameleone in the 2007 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs).
He once becomes the first Ugandan to get nominated in the prestigious awards.
The MTV EMAs 2007 will take place on November 1, 2007 in Munich, Germany at the Olympiahalle. Nominations of the world will be announced mid this week but Rafshizzle has managed to have a peep into the list and I found Chameleone’s name included.
The awards show will be hosted by Snoop Dogg. So far, confirmed performers are Mika and Foo Fighters.

If Street Kids in Kampala can get their groove life back with music played in the red-light-districts then so can the suffering kids of northern Uganda.
The village kids were seen getting jiggy with it during the MTN Campus Fest at Gulu University last week.
I love kids but mostly I love seeing kids happy and it was my pleasure to see the Gulu kids having an enjoyable evening---and they were happy to be pictured together. Their love and togetherness that night washed away the image I had of them---I used to think they can only think about violence.
They have suffered a lot and it is our task to help them get back happiness because they can.
Gulu kids you are the champions of freestyle dancing starting this year until further notice.

Rwandans Baying For Chameleone's Blood

HEAD-SCRATCHING: Chameleone is at logger-heads with Rwandan refugees

What do Jose Chameleone and President Yoweri Museveni have in common?
Rwandans always wade in with an opinion on their lives – and with a lot of negativity!
If you ask Chameleone the matter giving him a terrible head-scratch today he will tell you the Rwandan refugees who hired him to perform in UK but he never turned-up.
And now the Rwandan fellas are taking the matter political, and the office of Vice President is already aware of the matter, which Rwandans are relating to the poor relationship between the two countries.
“Can you imagine these guys (Rwandans) have made the matter political and they are swearing to do anything possible to tarnish Chameleone’s name,” said a source in the VP’s office.
However, Chameleone’s brother Humphrey Mayanja, who also coordinated the deal, said that the show flopped because of the Rwandan organisers’ disloyalty.
He said: “We initially asked for 3,000 pounds for the show but they convinced us to accept half of that saying that it was a charity show and moreover Akon was to perform at the same event and so Chameleone would get massive publicity. But as days went on, they kept changing words and we discovered that actually Akon was never to perform there. However, Chameleone was willing to take the burden and perform alone until when they wanted him to even use the deposit they gave him to buy three visas for him and his two back-up singers.”
“A UK visa in the US is $450 but they told Chameleone to use the deposit which was 750 pounds to buy three visas and moreover this communication was made quite, merely a week to the event,” continued Humphrey.
Meanwhile, Chameleone has said he would perform for these Rwandans again if the show is rescheduled and there are better arrangements.
